Foam core material

Looking for info on different foam core material and different brands and manufacturers.
I've heard some good things about Nida-core, hoping to get some samples from them soon.
I don't have much experience using foam as a core material, I assume the layup and amount of reinforcing material would be similar to using wood.

Any info is very much appriciated.

What core material you use is dependent on the application. For example Nida Core is an excellent choice for deck replacement but a poor choice for a transom core.

Nida is much more flexible and not as dense as wood, so you need to use more glass when using Nida.

A typical wood cored deck might have a layer of 1.5 oz mat on the bottom side and maybe 2 layers of something structural (like a bixaxel or woven) and finish layer of 1.5 oz mat on the topside. But with the Nida, to keep it from flexing, you would need at least two layers of 1708 on either side.

What type of foam core is good for structural, like stringers, transom, floor, hull, etc.
