The instructions calls for 80 degrees or more for good foam expansion.. I had my shop up to 82 degrees.. put the cans in very warm water for about 15 minutes. AND I think the best trick was when I filled the floor I stuck a hairdryer in the chamber for about 15 minutes to heat that up nicely. I got very nice expansion. Till I hit the last hole not sure what happend but the darn foam started comming out the hole and I had a heck of a time getting it to stop.. it waited until I had my gloves off to start this trick. Oh well, It sure seemed to fill everything nicely . Pixs tomorrow

same thing happened to me a month ago, i STILL got that stuff on my fingernails and one of my knees. Must be all of us that worked on our rigs this winter are getting to the alomost done stage. Which I think may last a couple years at least. :)

peace

Re: Foam improving the expansion

You wont really get that much of a difference in expansion with a heater .. or for that much heating the foam resins (60-80 is norm..80 deg is the manufactures way of covering its product under best results from its lab..so it doesnt get sued by an eskimo working in -10 weather conditions)

2-part foam..like any other polyester-thermoplastic resin based systems work on heat which is generated from chemical reactions in its mixing.. if you have to add heat..your not using the product correctly ( im not talking about raising the heat level of your enviroment to fall in the window of product usage ) if you get close to that temp..your fine.

Peace YD

That is how a skin forms. Surface is much cooler than the bubbles just below it. 40 years ago bubbles were all sizes in the foam.
