Fogging Engine - Beware

I was fogging my engine yesterday by spraying the fogging oil into the carburetor while at fast idle. I fogged until the engine stalled (approx 10 sec), and then sprayed some more into the carb so I could crank it over with some additional oil......when.....PUFF!.......the carb puffed-out a mist of fogging oil right in my face.
I learned the hard way not to be looking down at the carburetor when doing this......yuck

Next time you should wear a balaclava and goggles as well...:D

Must add, don't ever stand behind an outboard with removed plugs trying to clear flooded cylinders while mate turns electric starter on

You are lucky, it could have been some fire along with that. Never look down a carb when cranking the engine...

The truth is most of us learn the hard way.... I have to confess to having a few eyebrows singed off in my younger days. ;)

LOL, sorry just remembered a time when I was a apprentice plumber digging up a sewer line. We told the lady in the house not use the toilets. Wasn't 5 minutes after I punched a hole in that 4 in sewer line that I heard that gawd awfull rumbling sound.... Holy crap, she did that!!! It was the size of a football..
