On a 4.3 Mercruiser I/O, is it ok if someone fogs/stalls the engine first, and then drains/refills the engine oil?

Or is the correct method to drain/refill the engine oil first, start the engine and fog?

I don't see how, but someone told me that if you do it the first method, some of the fogging oil might be drained out with the engine oil.

Re: fogging question

One of the steps in a proper oil change is to run the engine up to operating temp after refilling with new oil to establish the level & check for leaks. Seems to me that logically, that would have to be done before you fog & kill it.
