Following Jasoutside's lead on acquisitions, even if not on price. Well above whale poop pricing, but not too bad for the NW. I've been watching the seller lower the price ever few days and decided it was time to take a look. I had a price in mind when I went to look, ended up coming up a couple of hundred bucks--partly because her floor and transom are still very solid, even with original vinyl on the floor and seats. Overall, underpowered with the 650, but in fantastic condition.

I thought a Super Sport was in my future, but after picking up the little 14' Holiday I was impressed with the amount of room behind the windscreen. The 18' seems positively huge. I was chasing a 20' that the owner can't decide whether or not he wants to sell, but this will do nicely. I'm on the water for Spring even if the boat shed project keeps me from doing floors and transom on the 14'. A repower can wait until next winter.

I do believe I will rest here for a bit. No need for a third...unless a 16' Mariner were to pop up in my neighborhood.;)

No dents, no missing rivets that I found, no cracking that shows through the paint--even the knee brace looks pristine.

Number 2 looks pretty clean, Cloud. Even the trailer looks good. :thumb:

Don't follow in Jason's footsteps. It can cause domestic discord.

Real nice clean, all original Holiday there Jim. From the pics she looks like she has been kept indoors and really looked after. Is it a 1975?

Oh man, I wouldn't even attempt that!

I dunno what ya paid for this Holiday but she sure looks nice, really nice!!:thumb:

I'm thinking if I were in your shoes I'd put some attention into the trailer, swap out the Merc if needed and go boating:joyous:

Nice find. That boat appears to be exceptionally well taken care of. Even the seats look in great shape. That humminbird fishfinder mount on the gunwale - - is an odd place to put a fishfinder.

Glen, she's a 1971, and I would love the newer Johnson, but I'm thinking a bit older and less cash. Although this would be nice as well: 115 Johnson Outboard

Willy, I agree on the Hummingbird. Not sure if the idea was to watch while trolling or what. The Hummingbird did come with the boat...too bad you can't download a history :) The seats have one small tear in the seat portion. I will do what I can to patch that until they are replaced by fishing pedestals or boxes.

Jas, the trailer could use a new jack, winch handle, and a good sandblast and repaint--but all of that can wait until winter. I think the old Merc can even make it through this year, but I will be watching for a deal on a 90-115 to hang on the back. Since I'm newly back into the boating, I don't know which I prefer, Ford or Chevy...but I have a couple to tinker with and figure it out.

Well Cloud - Ford isn't in the outboard business, but Chevy (GM) is via these people. A 557 rompin', stompin' horsepower OB. Seven Marine | Engine Hang on to yer britches! :D Oh wait a minute - It weighs in at almost 1100 pounds, rats. :blue:

If the 650 runs well, it could be good trade fodder to move up to a bigger motor. I've seen a few of CL ads looking to trade because the guy had no clue and got a big motor that over powered his boat. Not often, but it happens.

What brand trailer? I dig the funky fenders. :)

The Ford vs. Chevy comment was referring to Johnnyrudes and Mercs, but wouldn't a bunch o' ponies be fun?

The trailer is an EZ Loader. They are common up here in the 70s vintage, and those fenders are actually quite nice for a step.

Wholly moley, look who got into a pile of old tin this week! :D

Yeah she was just too much for you, looks like shes in great shape alright other than a PO owning a drill that is.

X2 Starmada bro thanks for the pics and not keeping us hanging like so many others seem to enjoying doing. :thumb:

EZ-loader is based right out of Spokane, they sell parts on the cheap too. Tough to find seals and bearings at a parts house, they seem to be proprietary to EZ so you need to not even try and order them right from the company across the state line and you would have them next day.
