how can i install the metal ring around bellows with out the driver tool i got the bellos sitting in the grove of the bell housing but cant figure how to get the metal ring on to hold it in place

you're talking about the large "hose" clamp, right? have you got a manual? You'll need to glue it on with bellows adhesive with the clamp in place and have the clamp positioned so you can tighten it with a screwdriver or 1/4 inch ratchet with a long extension. not necessarily a trivial thing based on my experience, but it gets easier...

i got mine in one time with a little armor all on the ring and pushed it in with a piece of wood.being careful and making sure it was in all the way.then i heated it with a hair dryer to dry the armor-all and it was set good.

no i have the bellows boot atached to the back of the boat already at the gimbal bering side. the side that attaches to the bellhousing and outdrive side dose not use a hose clamp on the gen 2 it has a little metal ring u have to drive in with a seal driver i dont have one that big neither dose autozone rent a tool. im stumped cant get it on the water till thats done. iim clueless how to do it.

Try a plumbing store for a fitting, cap, sleeve, sched 80 pipe etc.

ya i tried a 4vinch piece of abs too large fr opening in bellhousing bummer
