(For Schematic) Car Coil Conversion

I have tested my 1968 65hp Evinrude m#65853b and the Amplifer is bad. How can I bypass the Amplifer and get some spark on this motor? I have searched the archieves and read all of them. I some places it sounds like a good idea and some places you do not reccommend it. I have my wiring Diagram scanned in anyone needs it. Email me and Ill send it to you. I am at lpkirby@ev1.net<br /><br />If it is not possible to do then the engine is going to the landfill. I hate to do it thought it has 120 psi in all four cyl.<br /><br />PLEASE HELP

The "amplifier" is a scr switching system, you cannot bypass it. <br /><br />You could convert to a magneto system or to a Kettering system, but the simple answer is to replace the "amplifier".<br /><br />Good luck.
