I have the clymer manual which shows that on a four cylinder 120 there are two wires that go straight from the stator to the switch box. However, on my 95 with the thunderbolt there is what appears to be the control box that the manual shows on five cylinder models between the stator and switch box. I bought a new stator (16A) and it seems like I should be connecting it directly to the switch box because the wiring colors make no sense otherwise and this box is just zip-tied to the side of the engine. Is there any reason it should be there?
