I have a Force 120 that if you've pumped up the bulu and tilt the engine fuel will run out of the carburetors in to the splash well and into the water.

I contacted a local repair shop and they told me that this is normal but I can't see how this could be normal if the floats are working is this true?

Floats only work with the motor is in vertical operation position. Your issue is normal operation

The only way to stop gas running out is to run it dry or switch to a fuel injected motor.

Wanna see a real gusher - Tilt the motor and pump the bulb.

Could have sworn that it didn't do that when I first got it. You would think that something would have been designed to stop that

There was something designed to stop that,
they called it a fuel connection
you disconnect it either at the motor or at the fuel tank
