FORCE 120 idle problems

I have a 1994 Force 120 that has developed a bad idle. It is doing OK at higher RPM's but will shut down at idle. The TOP cylinder drops out at idle. I have completed a compression check (all at 140 or slightly higher) I have switched the plugs, switched the coils, checked the reeds and have cleaned the carburetor. Still no change...

Any ideas?

How are you determining that the top cylinder which is number 1, is dropping out at idle? Also what is your idle speed in the water when you first put it into gear?

Long story short... The problem was caused by a massive vacuum leak. The leak was the result of deterioration of the Transfer Port Cover Gasket. Gaskets replaced and normal operation has returned.
