Hey guys,

The internal rubber hose thatis like 3 inches long that covers the water exhaust has a hole and spewed water inside the motor. I hit it with some flex seal and that did the trick all season last year, but its back. Does anyone have a better solution?

Replacement is like 200 if you can find it, and looks like you may need to pop the majority of the engine out which is not worth it. Not sure if anyone has had this happen before?

Do you mean the exhaust/water bellow at the rear cover back the leg?

Check out Ebay, you will be able to find it there.
It is easy to change, if you do not change it, there will be exhaust under the hood when running and the engine will not perform or even stop because it will breathe exhaust instead of air.

Yes I did thank you. Has anyone tried this? I found one that was about $40 but it looked like I have to take the outdrive out. Has anyone ever done this before?

Not sure what your talking about?
The rubber boot for the excess water is easily replaceable.
Just remove the clamp and pull it out.

Post a pic.

You shouldn't have to take the outdrive off. Just six bolts that hold the rear outdrive cover on. Pretty easy to do. The hardest part is getting the spring clamp that holds it in place back on.

I apologize, I had looked up the L drive schematic by mistake. It is the BOOT-IDLE EXHAUST

https://www.marineengine.com/parts/...994/0e000001-thru-0e093699/driveshaft-housing

I am trying to replace part 27, but have been unsuccessful with finding a good How to.

Just trying to make sure I know exactly what I am getting into before changing (I have seen a lot of easy how to's in my life that turn into MAJOR PITAs)

Any info or experience would be greatly appreciated!

Very easy to replace. As pnwboat says.
Pull the cover off after you loosen the six screws that holding the cover.
Change the rubber boot and put the cover back and retight the screws.

Actually I think there might be 8 bolts, not 6. Either way, it shouldn't take long to do.
