Hello,
I was reading a thread by another boater with some info that I found that may help me with one of my threads. He stated that he was swapping around cdi boxes to eliminate his problem with his no spark condition on #4 cylinder. While doing this, he said that he now knows that his back up outputs work on his cdi box. I found this interesting because my question was why does my cdi boxes have 2 extra wires coming out of them and the go to the terminal strip to no other wires. Are these usable outputs if other ones go bad?
Thanks!!!

Re: force 125 hp CDI switch box question

Each cd module has outputs for 2 sparkplugs.

If you have a 3 cylinder (70 or 85 hp) motor, or a 5 cylinder 150 hp motor, you will have an extra unused output on one of the modules.

Since you have a 125 4 cylinder, all 4 of your outputs are being used.

I don't know what the other poster was referring to, unless he had a 150 hp motor?

Thanks Roscoe,
The other poster did have a 3 cylinder. I went back and checked to be sure. I still dont know why I have a green wire and a red wire that dont go to anyplace else but to the terminal strip itself. It just dont make any sence to me. Any ideas??? Thanks.

You should have 2 red and 2 green coming from the trigger, to the cd's.

The outputs are orange and red.

Why yours don't connect to anything, beats me.

Perhaps someone else with more knowledge will be along.

Re: force 125 hp CDI switch box question

My trigger does go to both cd's and there are outputs being used but for some strange reason I have those 2 extras on both cd's going to nothing. It has ran perfectly this way at times. My selco book (which I would not buy again!) don't show my wiring diagram with my specific color coding matching theirs in the book. I will most likely take it to a marina to check.
Thanks!
