Ok,
I tried to buy a new one so that I didn't have to keep working on this one, but seems that they say they no longer make this pump and motor.

Does anyone know a replacement that I can use, that would work? My threads on two of the Hydraulic lines are leaking, pretty bad and won't hold the pressure, the Pump is also now leaking around the base where it attaches to the motor. I am to the point that I think It needs to be replaced, so that I won't have to worry about this thing anymore. I tried to purchase from Doller Offshore Marine, but when they checked, they can no longer get this part. So If anyone knows another Pump and motor that would work on this system, even if I have to get new cables and mount it somewhere else I don't care.

I just want it to work correctly. Or could I take it to a machine shop to get the threads repaired?

You guys on here are the bomb to by the way.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox

Bry, NAPA lists 2 trim and tilt motors.
Dont know if they will fit your motor but they fit 40 through 150.Various years.Youll probably have to find a major store.
You could try for an after market tilt and trim unit.Pretty pricey but it would give you all new
unit.
You have probably heard this before.But::
are you sure you want to put a bunch of money into a an orphan motor.Theyve been out of production for some time and Mercury just announced they will no longer support these motors.
I would seriously consider replacing with an
Up to date name brand.

Re: Force 125 HP Model 1251x8c Tilt and Trim Pump problems

Clanton,
Thats who I tried today. They gave me the number to Mercurys discontinued parts and I called them. They said they didn't have it either, but she gave me about 10 companies that had it in 2001, but none that showed they did in 2002. So i will try that tommorrow, but if that is my luck, does anyone know what I can do, or replace it with another brand. I don't care if I have to mount the pump and motor inside the boat. It doesn't matter to me right now, all I need is the hydraulic pump to work correctly.

Know what I mean?

Thanks,
Bryan

Re: Force 125 HP Model 1251x8c Tilt and Trim Pump problems

I called www.dolleroffshore.com today, the lady said they do not have that pump, she looked on different computer found old service bulletin with part number for replacement pump and motor for 460.00. The only thing I have left is 2 check valves, and a armature for the motor. A Mercruser sterndrive pump should work, must have 4 lines, you can get a connector to connect the lines at NAPA or a hyd shop. Lines can be made. The sterndrive pump has almost the same check valve.

Thanks Clanton your the bomb. I will try whatever I can, but the $460 is high for me right now. I think I can get an aftermarket system for about that price I think. someone has told me about some CMV? company I think. Notsure. If anyone has any information on that, could they let me know.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox

You could look for a used pump, one with the allen head check valve, which is the same pump that has the snap rings, but is easy to remove and repair the check valve. Im looking.

Re: Force 125 HP Model 1251x8c Tilt and Trim Pump problems

Clanton,
This is the one that I have now. I have the model that does have the Allen head plugs. My problem is that when I took the pump apart, the threads on the pump where the lines go in, have been removed basically on the very back hose and also the pump is now leaking around the seal to the motor. I think this is just an Oring, and the fact that two of the threads that hold the pump to the motor seem to be stripped. I thought about sealing the pump on the motor with 3M's 5200 glue to see if it would work for that.

I then have thought about taking the pump to a machine shop to see if they can rethread it. Do you think this would work ? I think that I have fixed the problems other than this, since there was so much build up in the bottom of the pump, it seems that this was the last bit of my problems.

Thanks Clanton your a lifesaver as normal.

Bryan Cox

Clanton,
Thats cool. Do you think its worth trying to get this one fixed by taking it to a machine shop to get the threads fixed.

Let me know if this will work.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox
MTU

Re: Force 125 HP Model 1251x8c Tilt and Trim Pump problems

Im sure someone could repair the threads, but machine shops don,t work cheap. I have a pump with one stripped thread, my next project. I talked to hyd shop today about makeing hoses to use the merc stern drive pump, about 50.00, then you would need 2 Ts to connect the pump to the force t&t.

send me an email. I can most likely fix this pump and repair the threads.

bmurray@jcn1.com
