I want to thank everyone for helping with this Force Project.
My new question is of the Drain plug for the Lower Unit. 1988 Force 125 #1254X8B. Ater changing the waterpump and watertesting it I noticed milky oil coming from the drain plug. When I removed it I had to use my impact driver it was in there good. There was no gasket seal or o-ring.I checked the hole in the LU and there doesnt seem to be a place for one? I picked up a mercury drain plug but the threads were course and didn't match with what came out? It looks like someone custom made this plug? Did the factory plug come with gasket or o-ring? The threads on the lu side look crossthreaded as well. Can I use a tap/die to rethread or just get the correct plug and screw it in? If anyone knows a part number for replacement that would be great too. My local dealers and service people get a great chuckle when I say its a Force motor. I will include a photo of what came out.
Thanks again for the help.

mercury washer part number 12-191833
and plug part number for upper plugs, 10-79953Q04

Lower plug number FA523109

And yes, you can drill and rethread it, just make sure you flush the shavings out as best you can.

Thank you. I will order the drain plug.No gasket for the lower plug? Was the one that came out the correct one? Thought it was weird the side ones had gaskets but the lower one not. Have a great day. Thanks for the quick reply.

That is a standard National Pipe Thread--1/8 inch NPT. If you hunt, you can pick them up with a hex hole for Allen wrench. If you get desperate you should be able to find one at Lowes or Home Depot or Sears. You may need to settle for brass instead of stainless. If you do drill and retap, you can try 1/4 NPT but that's a little large. If you do retap, or decide to chase the existing threads, don't go too deep. NPT threads are tapered to seal and if you go too far, the plug will not be tight. When you re install, use teflon tape or anti-seize on the plug to prevent sticking in the hole.

Thank you for the quick and very informative answer.A guy I know at work is a machinist and he set me up with a plug that has an allen head and a tap.I cleaned up the threads and it went in perfectly.
