Thanks to everyone here again, had the boat out and after rebuilding the fuel pumps and carbs it ran like a champ today. In fact I even saw a guy out there with a new merc, I don't think he could believe his eyes that my force was running as well as it was :)

When I got back though I noticed some oil leaking out of the lower unit. Its dark and black and smells like oil, not lower unit oil (which is yellow and smells like cat pee). I opened the LU drain screw a bit and clear yellow oil, no water present.

The oil seems to be coming out of one of the lower unit drain holes (in front of the second bolt on either side)

Any ideas what the stuff is? Honestly it smells like the Deep creep (sea foam) stuff I used to fog the engine last year but that was all in the powerhead so I'm not sure what this stuff is.

No oil is present anywhere else I can see except from this drain plug. Thanks!

That's blowby and unburned oil in the gas/exhaust.You have a 2 stroke and it burns oil/gas that stuff is just the unburned oil that is in the exhaust housing that has acumilated and is now running all over your driveway.
Nothing you can do about it. Just put an oilzorb pad under it.J

I agree with the above. My old Chrysler always dripped a bit after running it.

Assuming the 150 is like a 125, you may be running a little rich or the mix is a little heavy w/ oil.

Thanks for the replies. This is the first time I've owned a two stroke and winterized one. Only other engine I've owned is an 8hp Honda.

Foodfisher your spot on, the mix is a bit heavy with oil, a mech I talked to last year recommended tossing a bit extra in + extra stabil for overwinter storage.
