Force 150 Idle too high......

I have a 1990 Force 150 and it seems to be idling too high. I can't get it out of gear some times. I believe that I have adjusted the throttle cable all that I can and it still won't come all the way down without me physically closing the throttle butterflies all the way. I've lubed all the control points and everything. Any suggestions or pics showing what to do would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

This is a case where the throttle control cable may be too long. First adjust the spring loaded quick-connect -- you do have one, don't you?-- Adjust so that the spring loaded part protrudes about 1/4 inch with the throttle in neutral. If you can not screw it far enough onto the cable to accomplish this then you must go into the control box, adjust there and possibly move the connector to a different hole in the actuating arm.

Thank you for the pics and info. Mine looks just like the pic so I will go in this evening and try to figure out how to adjust it.
