1988 Force 15HP. My poor motor has been in the shop most of the summer. I started out with only a lean sneeze, cleaning the carb took care of that and now it has run into ignition problems. My local boat service guy did some research and found they have an electronic ignition kit, backordered, for these motors as apparently they are notorious for ignition failures. I did not want to wait for the backorder on these, so he replaced the condensors, points. The motor ran great at full speed on the lake for a total of 20 minutes and then it ran like on 1 cylinder with no power, a symptom I just had. <br /><br />My guess here is the coils are bad and we treated the symptom and not the cause. He says you can't get parts for them any more so the electronic ignition kit will get rif of all these problems.<br /><br />Does all this sound reasonable? Any advice?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Karvin
