Or just follow wiring colours on end of block diagram if I have to id how do I do that please I understand that each protruding part on trigger is for each cylinder but which one is for which cylinder thanks in advance

Sorry thought I was asking guy who already had asked similar question but whist you are on Jerry do you have any idea how I can trace each of 4 triggers to wires as 4 pairs of wires

Hi and thanks for response, I have that diagram on my engine but my wires go into trigger unit all at one point so I have no way of knowing what wire colour etc is going to which trigger point on unit.hope my English explanation is understandable

There's no wiring to hook-up on the actual trigger side, hook up the right color wire to the correct wire on the terminal-strip as per schematic

Sorry not quite getting it I have 2x orange 2x red 2x green 2x white green trace that come out of trigger as one loom can’t trace which triggers wires are connected to so are you saying as long as they go to right colours on terminal strip that’s it will triggering not be wrong if not in right places or am I missing something which by the way wouldn’t surprise me in the least 😂

Maybe you have an aftermarket CDI trigger-assembly on it?
Here's a link to diagnose the Ignition / wires
start around page #18

No sorry that link doesn’t help definitely not after market trigger it has loom entry with all eight wires going into it and obviously each of the eight wires go in to a trigger 1 pair for each cylinder but I need to find a way of knowing which wire is the trigger wires for which cylinder to know where to put wires on the terminal strip ie orange wire and green wire. To either cyl 1 or cyl 2 and again cyl 3 cyl 4 with red and white with green

Hi thanks yes those are diagrams I already have on back of block and workshop manual .i was wondering if I were to run a magnet over pick up whether I would be able to read at wire ends with a fluke meter had I realised when stripping colours were not the only thing needed noting I would have marked but hindsight is always after the fubar isn’t it thanks jerry

The link I send has the testing procedure of the trigger ( DVA adapter is required)
If you have a Factory manual; the testing procedure will be in there as well

Thank you for help will let you know when I can get to put back on boat how it all goes don’t know if you read what spoke to Jerry about but I identified wires to trigger by setting fluke meter to sounder and run a magnet round inside of triggers picking wires in pairs until I ascertained what pair related to what trigger the smarter way if I had realised at time of strip would have been to mark each wire individually but hindsight is only a great tool once the fubar has occurred cheers all the best dave
