Force 35 for 50 OB Motor Swap Control Question

Hello Everyone,

In my earlier threads I've mentioned that my Force 50 overheated.

I decided to swap out the 50 with a Force 35.

I have some questions about the controls between the two motor:

* I want to minimize the work in the swap and was wondering if I can use the original Force 50 controls. Can that be done? I noticed that the Force 35 seem to have 2 extra wire that the Force 50 does not. Are those two extra wires going to force to me use the Force 35 controls?

* I've also not 100% sure where one of the main battery cable goes. I have a pretty good idea but would appreciate some reinforcement.

I'm including some pictures with comments on each. I had a picture for the throttle too, but I'm limited to only 5 attachments and couldn't attach it. Sorry.

Starting at the last pic. Yes it goes there.
The 2 wires are for trim/tilt.
The dash setup? The switch on top was added after.What does it power?
The controls on the 50 were for a motor without trim/tilt.
The 35 was probably from a pontoon.
The controls probably had the t/t switch in the handle.
The 50 t/t motors had the switch in the dash.Saved US Marine/Bayliner a bunch of money.

You came through, again, Jerry. Thank you.

I managed to contact the seller for the 35 and he confirmed the location of the battery lead, too.

This morning I went out to the garage and followed the blue and green stripe wires back to controls. I came to the same conclusion as you in regards to the wires being for the trim/tilt. Thank you for confirming that. This will save me a bunch of work from having to switch controls.

To answer your question about the switch on the top, it powers on a small water pump and some other add-on.

Oddly enough, the guy I bought the Force 35 from was using it to power his 18' aluminum bass boat. He said he got it from a friend of his.
