I did something really dumb the other day, just as this project was coming to an end I got impatient & crossed the top main positive wire at the top of the relay switch with the ground, I think, as I was putting the cowling on. I was testing the newly installed ignition & these main terminal wires were just temporary for the start up test. So right when wires crossed smoke bellowed out from the under cowling, i immedietley unhooked the battery & lifted off the cowling to see most the harness wires (multi color wires) had burnt not at their connections but near. I cut & spliced in new wiring reconnected all wiring & got nothing but push choke at the key, so I replaced the starter relay switch & still nothing, now i am thinking of replacing the neutral saftey (shift) switch & the circuit breaker. By the way, the motor still starts up & runs great with a manual pull start. I tested the starter & its still good also. Is there something other I may have fried? actual ignition key switch maybe?
