Force 50 Coil - Difficult to Remove Bracket

Any tips on removing the coil bracket? The upper two bolts and easy, but the lower two are almost impossible to reach because of the circuit breaker and lower engine cover. Any tips?

Also, I've notice some cracks on both coils and corrosion inside the contact on the upper coil. I'm going to fill the cracks with epoxy and attempt to clean the contact. Any comments or words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. I just put some rtv on the cracks which was all the way around the coil, and on the middle of the coil.

Re: Force 50 Coil - Difficult to Remove Bracket

Thanks Metor. I had another go at it and, this time, first removed the circuit breaker (it's fastened only with two screws). I was able to turn the rearward bracket bolt using a thin walled socket and a small ratchet.

After removing the two bolts at the top and one at the bottom, the bracket was loose enough to remove the coils.

So as to not mix up the wires, I removed one coil at a time, cleaned out the contact with a wire brush and sandpaper, and epoxyed the cracks.

Everything is back together and I'm waiting for the chance to rebuild my spark plug wires so I can check if spark has improved.
