hi im new to this 1985 force 50hp hasent ran in a while i tryed to start it an it ran for about 45 sec then it raced up and stoped i tryed to start it again and it back fired i tryed it again an it did it again now as i turned it over i notice it shootin fuel out a hole on top side of carborator as if compression was pushing it out i did a compression test an the needle bounces but will not hold any one out there can help me thanks:confused::confused::confused:

I would try to remove the head and look for damage.
If no damage to the rings or cylinder walls, I would check the flywheel key to see if it broke.

I also have an 85 50 hp motor. Is there alot of gas coming out of exhaust and is there alot comming out of carb. If so you probally need to replace the fuel pump. very easy to do and cheap. Mine was pusing gas all over place!!! the fuel pump runs of eng compression and vaccum. Replace my fuel pump and solved problem. Hope this helps.
