i just bought a 16 foot 1977 sea sprite boat 50 force motor and trailer for $350 the fellow i bought the boat from said he bought the boat in sept for a winter project but since he got called back to work and works on the road he wouldn't have time to work on it. for $350 i cant complain no leaks in the boat transom is solid i might have to replace the floor but that's no big deal he also said he didn't know if the motor ran since he bought the boat it just sat at the park were his house trailer is and never even put a battery in the boat any ways he said a guy came and looked at it before me and told him there was no compression in the motor because he could turn it by hand that didnt make sense to me because you can put a rope on the fly wheel and start it if your battery goes dead plus it was in neutral which would make it easier to turn so i hooked up a battery and turned it over and it has alot of compression but i have no spark can any one tell me where to start i know a little bit about motors but the force 50 is new to me i dont even know if they have points i dont want to take the fly wheel off if i dont have to thanks ken
