ilike the tile says i was going along and the motor died on me and i got some annoying buzzing from the dash, and i figured it had overheated. i got home and put it in a drum of water and lo and behold no water flow. well my main question here is since this thing got hot enough to melt engine paint and the plate on the head that says "force" on it, what are the chances that i didnt do any internal damage? i ordered an impeller for it and while im waitingit will give me a chance to tear it down. if someone could let me know what to look for i'd really appreciate it.

ok, i have 90psi and 100psi. im not sure if thats good or bad, but it starts up and idles. i also tore off the lower unit andthe impeller on the water pump appears to be in really great shape. i checked for pluggage in the water jacket and what not and that seemed ok too. im going to put it back together and try it again and see if it pees out of my new pee hole i installed. let me know if im on the right track

ok i just put the lower unit back on and ran it, but it wouldnt circulate water until it had been running for a while, and then it was just a slow drippage out of my pee hole. is it maybe still the impeller on the water pump, or something else on it

one more thing, where the copper tube goes into the water pump housing is there supposed to be an o-ring or something?

What Year?If you had it apart you should change the pump.Buy a new impeller and compare it.The copper pipe should fit in a plastic fitting(depending on the year) on the pump.It should be snug.No o-ring.J

Since you are there also replace the shaft seal on top of the water pump housing if cracked or torn. The cracks on edge of lip are hard to see.
