I have a Force 50 OB. Engine revs high and goes no where but fine at low speed. Replaced gears FWD, AFT, pinion, clutch and prop is not spun. Cables were also replaced. Mech stumped need help!

Hi there. Just double check that prop hub. You most times can’t see the hub or rubber has given way, unless you really look and take it all off and to bits.

The boat shop said they marked the hub and prop but they were still both in line when they checked again. Not positive they brought it to the lake to run it.... just a funny feeling because they removed my planning fins... tells me they tried to do it in a bucket

Agree on slipping hub. If you didn't mark it from the brass spline all the way out to the exterior of the barrel casting....the whole shebang, your line is worthless. On what they did for a test, ask them. Obviously you won't get the correct answer in a run tub/barrel, especially if you put a test prop on it to get to WOT RPMs without emptying the tub.

Some if not all motor shops can turn being lazzy at some point during hot summer months, too much work and income loss to dedicate their precious time to check if with a spun prop. If the prop was found to have been tested on a barrel, burn that boat shop to the ground for their proven inefficiency and laziness. LOL !!
