I have a 93 Force 70 on a 93 Sea Pro 170 cc. The motor will run fine for the first few minutes after cranking it, but then, when you are wot after a while it will start missing/cutting out. I cleaned the fuel lines and filters today, pulled the plugs and cleaned them. I cranked the motor in the driveway (with muffs) and as I slowly added more throttle, it started cutting out.

My last boat had a 228 Mercruiser I/O so I am not familiar with outboards that much.

I have fuel going to the carb. Is it something in the ignition system? Is it the plugs? What could it be?

Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Make sure the fuel tank vent is not plugged. If you have a built in tank, you can open the gas tank filler cap to allow air into the tank. Could also be the fuel pump diaphragm. If you have a primer bulb, try squeezing it when it starts to cut out. If this fixes the problem, then definitely replace the fuel pump diaphragm.

Check for water in the fuel.Rebuild the fuel pump.Clean the carbs.Do a compression/spark test.In-line sparkies work good while it's running.
Ethanol is messing with old hoses and plastic.Any inline connectors can go bad.
Replace all the hoses,squeezie too.Jerry
