Force 70 with a 70-85 gear, does that fit?

Hi all.

Im new here at the forum and i come from Denmark.

I have this friend, and he bourght this Force enige 70Hp from 1995. The Gearbox is damaged and he must buy a new one. We have found some on ebay.com but they are all older than 1995 and they are 85- 100 and 70-85 Hp.

Our question is, does thoese fit on his 70Hp Force engine from 1995

That has a modified Mercury gearcase. I believe the driveshaft splines are different than the Merc version. I don't think the gearcases you mention will fit. I think your only going to find a similar gearcase from a 1991 to 1998 70 or 75 Force. ( 1999 seems to have the 1995-99 90Hp gearcase which has Merc splines. )

Willy is correct.
You need a 1991-1995 70 hp gearcase, or a 1996-1998 75 hp gearcase.
