Force 85 1987 reving ????

HI,<br />Does anyone know if it is possible to rev the engine, Force 85 1987 (give more gas to start engine when your still in neutral?)<br />The outboard is on a Bayliner Capri, 16ft bowrider 1987, if this helps?<br /><br />Cheers<br />Steve

Yes.<br /><br />There is a way to push the throttle arm forward without engaging forward gear.<br /><br />On my controls (Commander 3000) there is a button to push in, located at the center of the controls pivot point.<br /><br />On some controls, you pull the throttle arm out, away from the control box, then push the arm forward.<br /><br />Then simply throotle back to the neutral position to re-engage the shifting arm.
