Question for those in the know:
Will a (factory U.S marine) tach off of a (scrapped) 91' 120hp L-drive work on a 90' 90hp Force outboard with a 20 pole tach requirement?
(Is the 91' 120hp L-drive a 20 pole?...I'm guessing yes on this but someone might know more about this specifically)
Any takers?
(note: the boat is 19' Bayliner Capri..very similar to my 90' 18'er)
Thanks guys any input on this is appreciated.

They should be the same.Put it in and start it. You might have to adjust the setting screw on the back. Jerry

Thanks for the info Jerry. I'm ok with a bit of 'gain' adjustment if required. I'm more concerned about ensuring the tach is a 20 pole. The seller doesn't seem to be too knowledgeable about this and I'm enquiring from a 'distance' so I can't go see it in person to check it out.
I'd like to know if there is a distintive part number or 20 pole indication on the tach that I could get him to look for?
