Force controls

Hello I was wondering if anybody knew if the controls from a 1990 force 90 horse would fit on a 1987 85 horse. I found a set cheap and right now my motor is rigged with some controls for a Johnson from the 1960s! Yes it sucks because the throttle wont get WOT there is not enough travel. lol
