Really depends on your point of view. I personally think they are a good value, but, of course, you get what you paid for. I am willing to do the necessary maintenance and repairs.

Re: Force engine

I have towed in Mercuries, Evinrudes and Johnsons, but never a Force.
True, there are not that many.
Like Frank said, maintain them, and they will serve.
Take a look at the other engine forums. They all have troubles.

Re: Force engine

Yeah I would agree with Kyle.
Usually the worst kind of abuse an outboard can take is from neglect, not from being over used.

Re: Force engine

mine runs great! '84, 85hp that was well taken care of by the first owner. i'm just a little mechanical & have been able to do basic but necessary maintenance. pretty sure i'll get a few more good years out of her until i get newer/bigger but w/ gas prices going up, this 85 is doin' pretty good!

Re: Force engine

I have a '92 Force 150hp on my '92 Trophy 2000. I am the second owner of this boat / motor. Going into my 4th season with it. Original owner was meticulous with it as I try to be as well. Very satisfied with mine.
