I have a bayliner 1989 with a 50 force.Black and pinkish motor cover.No engine tag.
I have no a=b-c or anything.
I bought this as the guy told me it would work. [h=1]Mercury Chrysler Force 50 55 HP Head Gasket 27-F658529-1 18-3854[/h] Hole pattern was correct on it,as i ordered one here in town, and the hole pattern was wrong.
I seem to have 1/2 bolts on the head,as u guys have different size bolts i see..Humm.

Anyways, the metal circular gaskets are smaller than my old one.On top of the head is stamped 691.If that means anything.I measured the bore(piston hole) just in case. Its like 3 5/16....Bore cover with 10 bolts i took off measures close to 3 3/16...
So roughly the new gasket measures 3 5/32....Mine is approximately 3 3/8ths,or to be closer,i believe 3 13/32
So the metal ring is way too close to the edge I believe.

The only other markings i wrote down that i could fine on the motor is in ink on the left side(while looking at the motor from inside the boat) was 691010 with a circle with 88 in gold, under neath those numbers.
Also on the top was numbers k124211

The motor tag is gone,so no way to get the exact stuff i guess lol.
Does anyone know what gasket i actually need(number) ?

Signed confused scotty lol.

Please take a look at maxrules(dot com) and check the headgaskets for 50Hp Force.

As you have no idtag to ref. at, look at the pics.
There are three typs 658, 691 and 3856 (after market typs).

See if you can compare to your bad gasket.

Well I got the 658 according to the package. And there is a 691 stamped on top of the head.So that must be the one i need.Wow.lol.

3854 is also the number he posted as i put in the thread above.I will go look if i can find info on the site u gave me.picture wise..

Just by looking at the small pic on that website,i can see it looks like the 691 has bigger circles in the middle.Which mine is.And the gasket on mine is torn a little, but that middle cut in between the 2 rings is looking to be a teardrop hole on each side, instead of the middle cut all the way through,or 2 long holes in between. So that should tell me its the 691..Interesting :) looks like i may have found it..691..........HEAD GASKET
FITS BOTH 3.312
AND 3.339 BORE.So really dont know my bore as i measured it with a tape measure, but that was about 3 5/16ths.
Tape measure tells me my gasket is about 3 13/32, ...3 3/8ths,so using the 16ths would be closer that 3/8 righto?
thanks again :)

I think I got it down as I practiced with the wrench on a bolt.Just so I could hear the click. Then stage it :)
Start in the middle and do 3 rounds or so upstaging. As long as the 225 inch lbs are correct :)
Thanks, but anything else would be appreciated.
