force impeller replacement

hello,I recently bought a 1988 bayliner trophy with a 85 hp force. Before I take it out for any length of time I want to replace the impeller.I have changed one on a mercruiser stern drive,is it about the same procedure? Are there any hidden bolts that hold the lower unit?Does the motor have to be in gear to remove the lower unit?Any additional help will be appriciated. thanks,
Troy

Re: force impeller replacement

tmiller,
The procedure is pretty straight forward. If you've changed an impeller before it should be nothing new. One thing, On that engine there is a bolt beneath the exhaust skeg that holds the lower unit on. Remove the exhaust fin, and you'll see it. The rest of the bolts are visible.

Enjoy,
Nav
