Force Merc Compatable lower unit?

Is a 1996 Force 70 HP lower unit compatable with a Mercury ?
This is the later model (Force By Mercury) with the merc ignition.

Or is there a compatablity chart Cross ref somewhere?

Nope not even close as this is small diameter unit, you need a unit from a 1991-1995 70 hp Force. When Force went to the big gearcase/different powerhead in 1995 the Merc unit will fit (75hp and up)
