force power trim

sorry to bother you guys about the power trim. i see i lot of people has ask this question about the trim leaking down, i understand about the needles and the o rings , thats behind the snap ring , but does both of the have to be change or just one , and can somebody have a drawing how it goes to gether or details how every things goes thanks alot if you can help .sorry if i didnt do this right , first time

it doesn't much matter. They are the small and inexpensive variety. You can probably find the four outer o-rings at a hydraulics repair shop - buna70 or buna90 is fine for these and they will only cost a few pennies each. However, you need to use viton on the inner three and will most likely end up having to special order bags of 100. So doing both will cost you maybe 12cents more than doing one.

Your real worry is being careful with the snap rings. They need to be stainless and they cost over $1each when bought in bulk. They are hard to find. I would be surprised if you found somewhere to buy them in less than wholesale quantity. The last thing you need is $98 worth of spare retaining rings.

the other thing is don't take the top half apart and you won't have to worry about setting the pressure. If it isn't rusted then just leave it alone. It's not something that is easy to do right the first time or with home garage tools.
