> Hope you can help with this. I have a 1980? Jay Bee boat, model 160. This boat is 16 ft. long and 62 in. wide at the transom. We have a 1989 Force outboard, 85HP on it. The transom has been replaced and beefed up. No problems in that area. My problem is prop selection. Is there anyone that could recomend which prop to use on this setup? The prop on it was damaged beyond repair when we purchased the boat, so we really don't know how it performs. I don't want to buy a prop without some type of recomendation. Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks, Fred

Re: Force prop

Fred get a Huslter prop for your boat. It is a 2 piece item.
1. The hub
2. The housing or the prop proper (pun unintended)
If you are at sea level or up to two thousand feet get the 13x17 or 13 inches in diameter and pitch of 17. Theoretically if the prop rotated 1 revolution your boat would move forward 17 inches.

The good thing is the housings are not terribly expensive and can be changed very fast in case of failure or need to up or down pitch.

The issue your gonna have is that Hustle does not recommend the prop to fit our motor however you can get it to fit no problem.

See

I got my setup from Phils prop shop as you need a new thrust washer and he knows the correct parts
Hub is 1A and the prop os for OMC but fits fine as you see above.
Here is the prop I got on the boat now.

WELCOME TO iBOATS!!!!!!!!
