Michigan Wheel Company. They make a very nice thru-hub exhaust stainless prop that will fit late Chrysler and early Force 85-150 engines.

I will return later and post a couple of photos along with part numbers.

If your engine is earlier than 1989, unless the lower unit was changed, it will be single exhaust.

Dual exhaust lower units have a line of water intake holes running up from just above the gearcase torpedo to just below the cavitation plate. Single exhaust lower units have the water intake slots on the side of the torpedo, just behind the prop.

The top prop is a Michigan brand stainless prop, part # P539 or SSC-317-IIC
The bottom prop is a new old stock Chrysler stainless prop (also made by Michigan) Part # 510-17. Both these props are 17 pitch but come in 15, 17, 19, and 21 pitch (if you can find one in the case of the Chrysler prop.

The second photo shows the thru-hub Michigan mounted on a single exhaust lower unit.

No--I only have enough for my own use--sorry

Search Chrysler/Force props on ebay. They show up but are expensive.

I'm assuming it's just an end cone and probably more for aesthetics, but not sure. The flange has slots for the exhaust and it's all one piece, not two.

I have the same set up for my 85hp but it's not being used because the prop hub is a fraction to long. I have the original prop as well.

Have to say they look a lot better w/ the cone. I may swap mine out and see how she performs.

Re: force stainless prop available ?

The red flange and cone were originally black plastic. I painted them to match the engine trim.

The tailcone is simply a pretty piece. It really does nothing to streamline water flow and increase speed. The boat will go the same with and without it. However, that engine has the extended prop shaft for a tailcone and it does look better so I use it.

The other thing is called a "flare washer" or "anti-cavitation washer." When Chrysler first designed the one piece lower unit, they made the midleg one inch shorter. Those engines ventilated props like crazy and owners were bitching and moaning so the engineers rushed through this piece. It is black plastic and has six internal webs for strength, but will not pass exhaust. It is only for use on single exhaust lower units. I am not sure exactly how it works, or if indeed it works at all, but again, it looks pretty so I use it.

Frank, Thanks for the insight especially the exhaust part. I really didn't know if the cone served any real purpose but for looks. I have it, but have never used it because the prop I have seems to work just fine. I figure the first owner put this prop on for added performance. I have the original one as well..

Does look sharp though'

I have a SS Prop that fits my 85HP Force, however, it's a Raker Prop and it bumps the snout so I took it off. It ran fine without the snout on but my compression is a bit low and the engine was having a problem turning it to minumum RPM's. It's 13 1/2 x 18.

I have a stainless prop from Michigan also. Its SSC-315-II-C, 13 3/4 X 15. The schematic I have from US Marine shows the '89 85hp never had that cone. Just a flare and nut. It does look cool though but I bet it could stick a hole in the shin or god forbid, poke your eye out?
