2 things 1 i would really love to post some pictures of the recent work ive just done to my boat for everyone to see.... and 2 i was hoping someone could guide me in the right direction as to where i can pick up the tach signal from ...

I just installed new faria gauges..

1988 bayliner center console 85 force outboard
If i touch the signal wire from the tach to the purple wire on the wiring block on the engine i dont get a signal to the tach however if i wiring the tach to the green/white wire at the rectifier ac connector the tachometer comes to life and operates... The problem is that wire from the rectifier doesnt come up to my console in the dash., and how am I suppose to run the new wire in the engine harness out to the engine without cutting the convolute off of it...

thanks
guys

Re: force tach wiring

Your wiring harness should have a lead already in it.It's probably taped back.It should be grey or maybe purple.Look under the dash at the wiring harness.Run other leads from the speedo lights.J

+1 Can't see it. Have to feel the buldge at the end of the harness.
