Force VS Mercury swap

I own a Bayliner Capri 16' and I am thinking of pulling my Force 50 hp and replacing it with a Mercury 75 hp with electric trim. Other than the addition of a rocker switch to activate the trim, are the existing controls compatable on these two motors? My Force is a 1992 and states " manufactured by Mercury "

The REAL question is, is that boat compatible with a 75? In many states it is illegal to operate a boat with a motor exceeding the rated maximum.
