Good day...my alternator does not register any voltage and I get low voltage warnings on my finder. Now if I rev the engine up and or at cruise speed it kicks on. Any ideas why.

Should be in the motor section
Most likely you need the ALT rebuilt

I'm assuming this is a Merc 888, maybe let us know for sure so Mods can move it

Ayuh,..... Generally speakin', an alternator doesn't charge til the motor hits 'bout 1100 rpms, at 1st start, but once it kicks in, 'n is chargin', it should charge, even at idle,.....
A volt gauge should show 13.6v or higher, dependin' on the state of the battery,....

could be regulator going on the alternator. your local alternator and starter repair shop can fix you right up.

the alternator is a corrosion on the diodes .....
my 1984 camaro I did the lower voltage amp alternator .. voltage dropped 10volts running the engine 305CU ... I fixed it cleaned the diodes voltage it 14.25volts...
I know the boats are a lot of corrosion electrical issues ..
