Ford 302 coil voltage

I have full 12 volts when key on position. None when off and very sporadic when engine running. I will add a vidio when I run boat. Any ideas

You might tell us the year of the engine. Most battery/coil/points ignitions from the 80s and older, use 12 VDC for cranking and 8VDC for running to help keep the points from burning.

The boat is a 75...engine redone ford 302 with pertronix igniter 2 dizzy and .6ohm coil
