Ford 302 Engine Missing the Volvo Penta Outdrive

I recently purchased a 21' 1995 Marada with a Ford 302 V8 engine. It is missing the the Volvo Penta SX outdrive. The transom and gimble are both in place, I just need the lower unit outdrive. Anyone know how expensive it will be to replace that? What are my cheapest options here? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The SX outdrive list $8,000 new from Volvo, you can search the internet to find the lowest price, or check ebay which will be a crap shoot to find a good one. You need a 1.60:1 Gear ratio for your engine.

I would try to find one with the correct gear ratio.

I wasn't sure if 1.6 meant it was the right gear ratio for my motor. That's why I asked...

I was off a little, the Ford 5.0 carbed engine used the 1.66, the 5.0 EFI used both the 1.66 or the 1.60.
Makes no difference, that little bit of difference isn't going to make a bit of difference.
