Ford 302 rad cap temp gauge

I put a cap gauge on hx...here's a pic of temp from about a 15 min run..fluid goes into barf can and then back as it cools. Does this temp seem alright..it hasn't went any hotter

seams a bit high. however those caps are notorious for not being accurate. what does the IR thermometer tell you.

You can dip the cap in some boiling/known temp water to check accuracy

So here's my findings with the temp gun. Ran up to temp...hx 170...manifolds 170ish..few degrees different from side to side...elbows were 95..100...block 150. This is running on muffs...I will check it all next time I ead out

Also noticed I have about double the flow out of one side. Not sure why but it's way more

These all look fine, not unusual to have diff between the two manifold sides. Elbows get raw water regardless of thermostat being open or closed o they should be cooler.
