i have a crack in my 460 ford intake manifold and i was wondering if i could use a regular automotive intake or does it have to be a marine intake. thanks for the help.

Re: ford 460 intake manifold

The OEM marine intake would have been the same as a castiron OEM auto intake. Beware of using an aftermarket aluminum manifold for two reasons:
1) the aluminum won't hold up to raw water cooling, even more so if it is exposed to saltwater.
2) a lot of the available after market aluminum intakes, such as Edlebrock Performer RPM, have performance ranges(torque Curves) substantially higher than what you want for a marine engine.
