Ford 4cyl with OMC cobra

Hi there Im a new boat buyer whos considering purchasing a 1988 boat with the above mentioned engine package, any comments in regards to longevity and overall quality of this package. Engin is original but outdrive has been rebuilt.

Enzo,<br /><br />The 2.3L Ford was about as durable engine as you could get. The very same engine, produced over 200 hp. in the T-Bird Turbo Coupe and more than that in racing.<br /><br />About the only thing I would do to it would be replace the timing belt. By the way the valves WILL NOT hit the pistons if it breaks.<br /><br />The Cobra drive was also durable.
