Guys, I have changed the oil 3 times in my boat now....
Ashamed to say I have NEVER noticed, but there is a tiny little ford oval on the dipstick.
I checked several times and it is definetly the "trademark" ford oval.
I was shocked to find this!
My engine is basically a GM block right? It is stamped as such.
The color on the handle of the dipstick is the same as the engine.
It was too dark to get a photograph but I will try to get the numbers and other markings off of the dipstick.
My questions are:
Anyone seen this before?

When I get the numbers off of it, can I reference them to ensure it is the proper length for my engine? (on oil change, filling with 5 quarts gets me in "normal" range)

I't not normal, nor is it the correct part, rather someone has seen it or not.

The part number from Volvo is 835414 and still available. around $21.

Re: Ford Dipstick in my AQ225d

Thank you sir.
For $21, I'll just get a new one and be done with it.
I wonder why in the heck somebody put that in there........although my boat has many "modifications" i don't understand.
