I have a Ford 351w that died on me. After digging through the junkyard for a core engine to rebuild, I am starting to think I should switch to a Chevy platform. I know I would need some exahust manifolds, and starter. I have a marine carb, and alternator. My question comes with the outdrive connection. I have a two piece bellhousing, that seems to have a "universal" intermediate shaft. I found a bellhousing on ebay that I suspect might work:

1. Will my existing vibration plate fit on a chevy flywheel? It looks like it has enough holes in it to.
2. Are there any other mounting problems besides accessory mounting that I have to consider before I attemt the engine swap?
3. I've seen mention of a fine or coarse spline ujoint yoke. I have 10 splines on mine, and would assume that is coarse?

Yes, the ebay should work with no problems. Volvo used the same section with the shaft in it for both Ford and chevy.

Line it up with the Chevy flywheel and see if any holse line up.

Front motor mounts will be different, and you will need a different exhaust Y that attaches to the transom shield and goes to the risers.

Yes, that is course.
