Form a gasket instead?

Hey guys. Can I use form a gasket or RTV instead of the Mercruiser gasket for this one location?

If you just don't want to wait for the right gasket. Figure out what type of material it is, and buy gasket material/ paper

Breakfast cereal box... 0.5mm gasket paper.... Anything that'll make a seal...
