Forgive me for cross posting this, but there hasn't been a new post in the Formula Owners Group since Oct. 09.

Anyway, I am considering a 26 PC but only if I can tow it. Width and weight are fine, but I am worried about height. I have it figured out to be 12 feet 6 from the keel to the radar arch, that leaves me a foot for the trailer. Am I correct in these measurements? Does anyone tow a 26 PC?

Thanks.

Re: Formula 26 PC Towable

I towed my wellcraft 28 over 900 miles with no trouble..... 12'6" sounds like alot for a 26.... how did you get that number? did you measure or add draft and freeboard?..... If the latter then did you subtract the height of the drives?.... If it is actually 12'6" then you need to get your keel within 12" of the road...... In order to trailer this thing you need to know any low clearance locations onn your planned route.... If it's local then scout it and if it's long distance you need a current motor carriers road atlas as it has a section that lists all low bridges....

Also be aware that if you contact an overhead structure you will be cited and will be liable for any damages you cause.... Including possibly a team of engineers to verify that you really didn't hurt that 100 ton steel bridge with you 10" thick fiberglass arch.....

I found some specs online and added them up. Draft is 2'11" and bridge clearance is 8'6". I didn't subract for the drives. It's a Volvo DP, how much lower than the keel would that be?
