I recently purchased a Yamaha 15 HP outboard motor (model F15MSHW) to replace a Johnson that I have difficulty starting manually. The attraction was that it is electric start. I assumed (I know, I know) that it would be easy to add forward controls. Unfortunately, when I checked with my local Yamaha dealer, they told me that Yamaha does not make a forward control kit for that engine. Being a dealer, they seemed more interested in selling me a new motor that exploring the possibility of finding a solution for my present motor. Is there anyone on the forum that can offer some help?
